Early morning crash in Tyler leads to marijuana, firearm arrest GMET - Tyler early morning crash By KLTV Digital Media Staff | April 9, 2021 at 10:12 AM CDT - Updated April 9 at 2:42 PM TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A major pin-in crash occurred at the intersection of Front St. and S. Beckham shortly after midnight Friday led to an individual allegedly admitting to possessing a backpack containing drugs and a gun. At least two vehicles were involved, including a sedan and SUV. Several EMS units responded though no life-threatening injuries were reported. However, according to Tyler Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh, a backpack was found near one of the vehicles in the aftermath of the crash. The bag allegedly contained “two small baggies of marijuana and a firearm,” Erbaugh said. The driver of said vehicle, identified as Treveyon Lamar Gibson, 19, allegedly claimed ownership of said bag.

According to Tyler Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh, the suspect was “mad at a relative” and so fired a gun at the victim in the parking lot of McDonald’s in the 3000 block of Gentry Parkway before driving off in their vehicle. No injuries were reported.

According to Tyler Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh, on February 22nd at around 3 p.m., Tyler Police responded to 2202 WNW Loop 323 on report of a shooting. Through the investigation it was determined that Christopher Lynch III, 17, of Tyler, and the juvenile in question were involved in a physical altercation at this location that involved several people. Dejuan Anthony Henley, 23, of Tyler, shot Christopher numerous times. While shooting, Dejuan also shot the juvenile in the leg.

Credit: Smith County Sheriff s Office Fcaebook Author: Claire Wallace Updated: 6:03 PM CST March 10, 2021 SMITH COUNTY, Texas A man with an aggravated assault warrant has barricaded himself into a house in Smith County after a car chase, Tyler Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh said.  The Smith County negotiations team has been sent out to the scene.  Erbaugh says the Texas Anti-Gang crime (TAG) taskforce had attempted to pull the suspect over after identifying him as a man with a known aggravated assault warrant on him.  The suspect then initiated a car chase and was pursued by the Department of Publis Safety on US 271, leaving Tyler City Limits. The suspect then drove back into city limits where he abandoned his car and left the city once again on foot before barricading himself in a home.
