More Than 1,800 People Could Get Vaccinated At Home Under New DPH Program

Yehyun Kim / CT Mirror The state launched a homebound vaccination program this week in which local health departments could be tasked with inoculating nearly 2,000 people who are physically unable to get to vaccination clinics. The homebound option was added without fanfare to the state’s website in early March, but actual vaccinations didn’t begin until this week. Residents who wish to receive a vaccine at home must fill out a one-page form asserting they are “physically unable to go to a vaccination clinic or mass vaccination site with or without assistance.” The form then asks for a home address, an email address and a phone number. No referral from a doctor is required.

The commission set a Public Hearing for a third, that of Grillo LLC for a new organic composting facility. This is the second application filed by Grillo LLC. The first was withdrawn after time ran out for scheduling the Public Hearing. The hearing is now scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 27. All material that is to be viewed and read into the record must be received by the commission no later than 7 p.m. April 20. In scheduling the hearing, commissioners agreed that the application is likely to have a significant impact and that it is in the public interest to hold a hearing.
