On May 20, Tokyo Tech hosted a Tokyo Tech Global Webinar on the theme International Cooperation in Science and Technology Higher Education. The event featured talks by Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) Director General Romny Om and Tokyo Tech Vice President for International Affairs Jun-ichi Takada. More than 100 persons from Japan and overseas, including Cambodia, joined the webinar.
After an opening message from Tokyo Tech Executive Vice President for Education Tetsuya Mizumoto, Takada spoke briefly on the history of the Institute s international cooperation activities, including those in Southeast Asia, and reflected on the benefits of such cooperation for faculty members as well as for the university. Next, Om introduced ITC and spoke of his institution’s experience collaborating with international partners.
Tokyo Tech has launched an English version of the popular Introduction to Computer Science and Programming massive open online course (MOOC) that was originally offered in Japanese on the edX platform.

Tokyo Tech s three engineering schools the School of Engineering, the School of Materials and Chemical Technology, and the School of Environment and Society renewed their ongoing student exchange agreement with the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering (NSE) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on March 1, 2021.

The exchange program, based on the departmental agreement concluded in February 2017 between the MIT Center for Advanced Nuclear Energy Systems (LANE) at Tokyo Tech s Institute of Innovative Research, focuses broadly on nuclear energy systems, and specifically aims to cultivate meaningful exchanges among researchers and students.
