CHICO, Calif. - As of 4:30 p.m. Monday, there was an RV parked at the site and one small tent.
The City of Chico said as of 10 a.m., 10 people have used this resting site since it opened on Friday.
The site includes a tent for shade with tables inside of the tent, three portable restrooms with a hand washing station.

New Chico City Council committee taking new steps to tackle the homeless crisis
The ad hoc committee shared what their goals are with a new initiative to help secure a place for the homeless quickly.

CHICO, Calif. - The goal is for this new city council committee to quickly secure a place for the homeless to go.
The ad hoc committee includes Mayor Coolidge and councilmembers Deepika Tandon and Scott Huber.
The city plans to find out how people in Chico feel about what should be provided for the homeless. It s part of the judge-mandated compromise in place of shuffling campers out of city parks and greenways.
