POLICE in Dorset have seized a dangerous car being driven with a young child in the back seat. The vehicle was in a dangerous condition, had no MOT and not been taxed for more than a year, according to officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team. A spokesman said: This car was seized today in Rempstone Road, Swanage, by our No Excuse Team. The car was in a dangerous condition, the MOT had expired and it also showed that it had no road tax since January 2020. There was a young child in the rear of the car. You are responsible for your vehicle and the safety of your passengers.

But police were unsure of his story because he had just driven past a service station. The driver was one of a number stopped by officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team during patrols in the Poole and Purbeck areas at the weekend. They also included the driver of a Vauxhall Astra who has had no insurance since January. His young daughter was a passenger in the car. The driver already has nine penalty points on his licence and now has two offences of driving with no insurance pending. The vehicle was seized and he was reported to court.
