Inset pic: East Dorset Police POLICE are investigating after a fire at a disused unit on the Ebblake Industrial Estate in Verwood. Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and Dorset Police were called to the incident at about 7.45pm on Tuesday (April 27) Police have confirmed that the fire is believed to have been started deliberately. A statement on the East Dorset Police Facebook page said: Persons were seen entering the disused unit and a short time later smoke was seen. A fire had been started within the building.

A WARNING has been issued to vehicle owners after thefts of catalytic converters. Police say the thefts have happened over the last couple of days in the West Moors and West Parley areas and Honda and Toyota vehicles have been targeted. A post on the East Dorset Police Facebook page said: We have had reports of catalytic converters being stolen over the last couple of days in the West Moors and West Parley areas. Vehicles being targeted are typically Hondas and Toyotas. If possible, park the rear of your vehicle close to fences, walls or a kerb or keep your vehicle in a garage. Alternatively, aim to park in a well-lit and well-populated area.
