Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and Dorset Police were called to the incident at about 7.45pm on Tuesday (April 27) Police have confirmed that the fire is believed to have been started deliberately. A statement on the East Dorset Police Facebook page said: Persons were seen entering the disused unit and a short time later smoke was seen. A fire had been started within the building.
Police and fire crews attended Ebblake Industrial Estate in Verwood at around 5.45pm on Tuesday, April 27. It was reported that people had been seen entering the disused unit and a short time later smoke was seen after a fire had been started inside the building. Following a 999 call by a member of the public, firefighters were on the scene quickly and had the blaze extinguished without large amounts of damage. Police found a small dark Valentino bag, a lighter, some loose change and a packet of crisps at the scene, which officers believe were items left behind by the arsonists.
