The state is expected today to exceed two COVID-19 milestones: more than 4 million people who have at least started the vaccination process and over 2.5 million fully vaccinated.
Three weeks ago, there were 2,241,145 people in the state who had at least one dose and 1,294,451 fully vaccinated.
Those numbers as of Friday were 3,985,578 and 2,459,145, respectively, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
But Ohio is still experiencing high numbers of COVID-19 cases with Gov. Mike DeWine saying the state is “moving in the wrong direction.”
The 3,985,578 people who had at least started the vaccination process as of 6 a.m. Friday is 34.1 percent of the state’s population, according to the ODH. It includes 75,534 starting the process in the previous 24 hours.
