Wildfire Service’s latest update. The Tremont Creek wildfire has been stable since yesterday and there hasn’t been any significant growth within the fire perimeter, said wildfire information officer Forrest Tower, during a live-stream update hosted by the Thompson Nicola Regional District Saturday afternoon. There was a spot fire on the southwestern flank near Barnes Lake yesterday but air tankers and crews were able to get it under control with plans to contain it today, he said.

Image Credit: TWITTER/BC Wildfire Service July 12, 2021 - 4:35 PM Helicopters and air tankers supporting firefighters on the ground in the battle against the Becker Lake wildfire near Vernon had to be suspended over the weekend due to a flying in the area. A large drone was spotted by firefighters above the Becker Lake wildfire on Saturday, June 10 at around 4:30 p.m., according to an RCMP media release. Air operations were suspended for roughly an hour until it was safe for them to resume. The restricted airspace around a wildfire is five nautical miles to an altitude of 3,000 feet above ground level.
