NOAB delegation calls on info minister

DHAKA, Dec 23, 2020 (BSS) – A delegation of the Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) today paid a call on Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud at the ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat here in the afternoon.
NOAB President AK Azad, Vice-President ASM Shahidullah Khan, executive members Mahfuz Anam, Naim Nizam and Dewan Hanif Mahmud and member Shah Hossain Imam joined the meeting, said a press release.
During the meeting, they discussed about different aspects of the newspapers industry in overcoming the coronavirus situation, the release added.
NOAB leaders sought the information minister’s suggestion over realizing the due payment of advertisement from different government and non-government institutions.

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Wednesday that Bangladesh-India relationship is bonded with the bracelet of blood and it successfully passed the test of time.
“The relationship between the two neighboring countries successfully passed the test of time,” he said while talking to journalists after Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami visited the AL central office in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue.
Bangladesh-India relationship is now warmer, more amicable and more development-oriented than any time in the past, Quader said, adding that the friendship of India passed in the test of time and it is tied with the blood of ’71.

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud suggested taking the Bay-Terminal project forward as fast tech project as it will lessen pressure on the Chattogram port.
“Bay-Terminal should be taken forward as fast tech project as this will reduce the pressure on the Chattogram port. The second is to build a port under the bay terminal,” Dr Hasan virtually said as the chief guest in the meeting of the 14th advisory committee of Chattogram Port held at Shaheed Munshi Fazlur Rahman Auditorium here this afternoon.
Dr Hasan said, “Bangabandhu Shilpo Nagar, located 45 km away from the Bay Terminal, is becoming an industrial city. So, there is a need for constructing another port in the middle of the industrial city.”
