LAHORE: SACM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the Punjab government is working to provide relief to the people under the Ramazan package while ensuring strict implementation of price control mechanism.
In a statement here Wednesday, Firdous said Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is actively working to monitor the situation of demand and supply of edibles to provide benefits to the masses.
She said the chief minister has directed to contact flour mills associations to stabilise the price of flour. The government has conducted 31,000 raids, registered more than 2,000 cases and Rs50 million fines were also imposed on the violators of the law, she further said.

LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan on Wednesday took exception to use of social media by the civil servants and hinted at passing an appropriate order in this regard.

He remarked that the departments should decide a code for the civil servants to use the social media.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the government had taken another important step by launching the Kisan farmer card which will provide direct financial benefits to the farmers in the shape of cash transfer. “This will also encourage the farmers to grow more crops to feed the countrymen.”
Speaking to the media at Multan Tea House on Monday, the SACM said that necessary infrastructure like hospitals, universities and industrial estates were being established to provide job opportunities and other facilities to the people. “The incumbent government is taking steps to establish the South Punjab province. The South Punjab Secretariat is a giant leap in this regard as the promise made with the people is nearer.”
