The Delhi High Court on Tuesday sought the Centre s reply on a plea challenging the new Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Technology were issued notices by the bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Jasmeet Singh. The bench also granted them time to file their response.

The government has set fifty lakh registered users as the threshold for defining significant social media intermediary , which will have to adhere to additional obligations and compliance under the new IT rules that intend to crack down on misuse of social media platforms.

The Supreme Court on Monday sought responses from the Centre and WhatsApp within four weeks on a fresh plea alleging lower standards of privacy for Indians in comparison to European users of the messaging app. The top court said that people have grave apprehensions that they will lose their privacy, and it is our duty to protect them. TCS Becomes World s Most Valued IT Company, Surpassing Accenture

TCS s market capitalisation crossed $169.9 billion inches ahead of rival Accenture.
TCS had also zoomed past Accenture to become the most valuable IT services company in the world in October last year.
Back in 2018, IBM was at the top of the market with 300% more revenue than TCS, followed by Accenture in second place.
However, in April that year, TCS touched the $100 billion valuation mark and overtook Accenture’s market cap.
