The incident, believed to have occurred on the roof of the Pit Stop Cafe in Ashmore about 10.20am, has left two people with electrical burns to large portions of their upper bodies, while the cause of their injuries remain unclear.

Two tradesmen aged in their 30s have been seriously injured with burns to their head and chest after suffering electric shocks at a workplace incident on the Gold Coast.
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) said crews were called to the workplace at the Ashmore Pitstop Shopping Centre on Southport Nerang Road at Ashmore after the pair received burns to their upper body shortly before 10:30am.

Lauren Williams, the clinical director of midwifery at private maternity group Hatch, said the south Brisbane service, which works with the Mater Hospital, recorded a lull in bookings that corresponded with the first months of 2020, when uncertainty about the growing pandemic was rife.
