The LNP has called for police beats to be co-located at major Queensland hospitals to arrest the escalating problem of assaults on health workers.
Opposition health spokeswoman Ros Bates, the long-serving LNP member for Mudgeeraba, is still a registered nurse and her two sisters are also experienced nurses.
Having police beats in hospitals would mean that if there is an assault, the police can come over straight away , says Opposition Health spokeswoman Ros Bates.

Both of her sisters have been physically assaulted on duty at Gold Coast hospitals, while Ms Bates has frequently shadowed clinical nurses at the Gold Coast University and Robina hospitals to observe security problems first-hand.
