The police are looking to speak with anyone who recently sold or discarded a hot water tank or Culligan softener system at the end of their driveway.
This is part of the investigation into the most recent in a string of incidents in which debris was found on Highway 17 between Pembroke and Renfrew. On Feb. 9 at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call about debris found on Highway 17 near B-Line Road in Laurentian Valley Township. The debris consisted of a hot water tank and water softener tank that were both found on the shoulder of the road. Both tanks were seized by police as part of the ongoing investigation into these incidents. Investigators have located additional items such as tire rims.
