BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - After a nearly picture perfect weekend around the area, a rainy pattern returns this week.
Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms can be expected through the end of the week, with locally heavy rainfall possible on any given day. A cold front slowed its forward progress through the area late Tuesday night into early Wednesday, resulting in bands of persistent showers and thunderstorms, some of which produced heavy rainfall.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The final week of April will deliver a welcomed run of fairly quiet weather through at least Wednesday or Thursday of this week. For today, look for a mix of sun and clouds and a mild afternoon, with highs topping out in the low 80s. Winds will shift around to the southeast by this afternoon, marking the arrival of warmer, more humid air moving in from the Gulf of Mexico.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - We finally get to enjoy a run of mainly dry and pleasant weather over the next several days. Our next good chance of rain is expected late in the week in association with a cold front.
For today, plenty of sunshine early will give way to partly cloudy skies by this afternoon. Highs will be a bit below-normal once again today, topping out in the low 70s.
Thousands without power, reports of downed trees following severe weather

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Thousands of residents are without electricity after severe weather rolled through the metro Baton Rouge area just after 5 a.m on April 16.
According to Entergy Louisiana, over 6,000 customers across East Baton Rouge Parish are in the dark as of 7:45 a.m.
In Iberville Parish, over 1,500 customers are without electricity.
In total, Entergy is reporting over 11,000 customers are without electricity statewide.
