Archives Panicked Kumba parents and guardians rushed to pick up their children from school Friday, February 19, 2021, following rumours that a medical team was administering the COVID-9 vaccine to schoolchildren.
Chamberlain Ntou’ou Ndong, Senior Divisional Officer for Meme Division in Cameroon’s South West Region said on Friday, “fake news” spread in Kumba from unknown individuals on the supposed vaccination of children against COVID-19 creating “general panic and fear amongst parents and students leading to the withdrawal of children from schools”.
The rumour immediately sparked furious panic withdrawal of children from schools in Kumba as the city saw chaos and frantic movements with residents fearing the worst.

PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has announced that the COVID-19 phase 1b group has been expanded to include childcare workers.
Childcare Workers must be employed at a licensed facility, certified home, or a registered professional to receive the COVID-19 vaccine from the Purchase District Health Department
The vaccination form has been updated to include “childcare workers: employed at a licensed facility, certified home, or a registered professional.”

Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is reporting good news for residents of Renfrew County and District (RCD) in the fight against COVID-19 as residents of long-term care homes have been vaccinated.
To date, RCDHU in collaboration with partners have successfully completed COVID-19 vaccination clinics in all 10 LTC homes and provided first vaccinations to 908 people, according to a release issued Tuesday afternoon.

As BC dives deeper into the COVID-19 Vaccination Rollout Plan, Provincial Health Officials presented an update on how and where the virus has affected people.
Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced today (Friday) the current guidelines restricting social gatherings and events will be in place indefinitely.
These include musical or theatre performances and minimize attendance of weddings, funerals and baptisms to 10 attendees including the officiant, however, receptions are not allowed.
The guidelines will be continuously reviewed with a target set for the end of February to ease restrictions and return to the ‘Safe 6’ rule if rates remain relatively low.
