One month into her senior year, she tested positive for coronavirus. It was very discouraging. I was very stressed out and basically didn t leave my room for two straight weeks. It was crazy, said Kitchens.
She missed cheering at her last first game of the season and she had to routinely sign back into school online again. I really couldn t move. My body ached. I had a headache and I had the chills. It was just really, really bad, she said.
Her motivation for school started to wear thin, but one of her teachers helped her get through it. It wasn t just me. It was a group effort. It really was the whole class. A group effort, said Lynne Adams. I was just really impressed with the maturity that she showed and she did that last year, but even more so this year; in that she did not let it defeat her and she did not use it as an excuse not to do work.

May 3 The last day of school for Middle Georgia students is less than a month away, and summertime brings with it many fun activities for kids.
Although many summer camps were canceled or moved to a virtual format in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, several summer camps are planned for the 2021 summer.
Jennifer Hoffman, an infectious disease physician with Coliseum Health, said each parent or guardian has to contemplate multiple factors when considering whether or not to send their child to a summer camp while the pandemic remains ongoing.

MACON, Ga. The Tattnall Square Academy hallways are filled with students artwork for their annual Spotlight on the Arts Event.
Senior Tyrone Person was happy to show off his skills as a first year art student. I like my Tupac drawing because he s like my favorite rapper and he s like a role model. I like the Fort Hawkins drawing because I drive past it everyday before I go home and it s like a monument in East Macon, he said.

MACON, Ga. Tattnall Square Academy announced its new leader Friday evening.
According to a news release from the Tattnall Square Academy Board of Trustees, David Raines was named Head of Schools and will begin his tenure on June 1.
The release says Raines is a former teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, and head of school with 19 years of experience in Christian education and 10 years as a head of school at several private institutions. He is currently the head of a Christian school in the Atlanta area.
In the release, Raines said, “Tattnall has a rich history grounded in Christian faith, and I immediately felt God calling me to this special place.” He continued, “I am grateful for the opportunity to join such a wonderful school family, share my vision, and strengthen TSA’s future.”
