CONROE, TX The Woodforest Bank Stadium COVID-19 vaccine hub in Shenandoah will administer its final doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine Friday and will close for good Tuesday, Montgomery County officials announced at the Commissioner s Court meeting Tuesday.
The hub will only administer second shots of the Moderna vaccine Tuesday, Jason Millsaps, executive director of the Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, told the court. Millsaps added that the breakdown of the site will begin the following day and should take a couple weeks before turning it back over to the Conroe Independent School District.

In doing so, Montgomery County announced St. Luke s and Lone Star Family Health Center are offering second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at Woodforest Stadium on certain days this week.

As of Thursday, Montgomery County says there are currently 1,402 cases of the coronavirus in the community, bringing the total to 53,505 since the pandemic began. 28,325 total residents have recovered but sadly, 299 have passed due to the deadly virus, and 76 patients are currently hospitalized.

CONROE, Texas Hundreds of people in counties surrounding Harris County began receiving their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Montgomery and Galveston counties became some of the latest “large vaccination hubs” in Texas after being left off the state’s list the previous week.
“It’s been a long time coming,” said Jason Millsaps, chief of staff for Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough.
On Wednesday morning, cars began arriving at Montgomery County’s first mass vaccination site at the county fairgrounds in Conroe.

HOUSTON – Montgomery County officials said Wednesday’s mass vaccination site has been running smoothly.
The site opened to the county’s eligible population at the Montgomery County Fairground Wednesday morning to a line.
Jason Mill Sapps, chief of staff to the Montgomery County judge, said 247 of the 2,000 reserved shots were administered within the first hour.
Sapps said the Conroe site will remain open until Friday to ensure the county honors all 2,000 reservations and appointments.
Frustrations continue to grow among those who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine but can’t seem to get a shot. Oran Murphy is among that group.
