Austin man charged in 2017 aggravated sex assault apprehended

AUSTIN, Texas - An Austin man charged in the 2017 aggravated sexual assault of a woman in North Austin has been apprehended.
The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force apprehended 40-year-old Jason Rider Park, who was wanted for an aggravated sexual assault in 2017 at the Churchill Crossing Apartments on Thermal Drive.
According to court paperwork, Park allegedly sexually assaulted a woman he initially met on a CapMetro bus that left from the intersection of Rundberg Lane and Parkfield.
A fugitive investigation was conducted and Park was apprehended on March 4 in the 1100 block of Weathers Lane in South Austin without incident.

According to police, around 9:25 PM Thursday, March 4, Killeen police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Trimmier Road and Stan Schlueter Loop to assist a Killeen Police Sergeant who was involved in a crash.
Police say a preliminary investigation revealed that the sergeant was traveling north on Trimmier Road and entered the intersection on a green light when his vehicle was struck by a dark-colored Dodge Challenger travelling west on Stan Schlueter Loop that ran a red light.

The driver of the Dodge Challenger failed to stop and render aid, instead speeding off.

KILLEEN, Texas - A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Killeen restaurant last weekend.
37-year-old Robert Theodore Jones was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and is currently in the Bell County Jail, says the Killeen Police Department.
On Feb. 28 around 2:18 a.m., officers responded to The Spot Bar & Restaurant on South Fort Hood Road for a 911 call about a shooting victim. At the scene, officers found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds and started performing life-saving measures until paramedics arrived.
