Trying to cure childhood diseases can feel like a tough mountain to climb for scientists so a local principal is going to literally climb a mountain to raise money for the cause.
Tappan Zee High School Principal Rudy Arietta will begin training on Bear Mountain Saturday, for the real test in August.
That s when he s going to hike a mountain in Utah 13 times equivalent to 29,029 feet because that is the height of Mt. Everest.
It s all to raise money for the Children s Tumor Foundation. Neurofibromatosis affects the daughter of Tappan Zee High School s basketball coach.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY The next group of 2021 National Merit scholarship winners include 14 high school students from the Hudson Valley.
These winners of National Merit college-sponsored scholarships are among the more than 3,100 announced nationally this year to receive between $500 and $2,000 scholarships from colleges and universities across the country, the National Merit Scholarship Corp. said in a news release Wednesday.
