SOFIA (Bulgaria), May 14 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria s competition authority said on Friday that it gave the green light to state-owned Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) to absorb its fully-owned unit BDB Factoring.
According to the antitrust body, the notified transaction should be defined as a restructuring within a group, therefore the planned absorption will not lead to concentration among enterprises, the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said in its decision to approve the merger.
The aim of the restructuring within the BDB group is optimisation, future development and offering of factoring services by the lender, CPC said.

SOFIA (Bulgaria), April 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria s antitrust body said on Monday that it fined local edible oil and mayonnaise producer Olinesa Premium with 14,100 levs ($8,700/7,200 euro) for non-compliance with an earlier decision regarding unfair commercial practices.
The fine was imposed over Olinesa Premium s failure to comply with a 2019 decision regarding product imitation issued by the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC), the antitrust authority said in a statement.
In 2019, the CPC fined Olinesa Premium with 37,000 levs for imitating the registered trademark and mayonnaise packaging design of local peer Konsul. In January 2021, the CPC said it received a letter from Konsul claiming that Olinesa Premium continued to manufacture and sell mayonnaise in breach of the regulator s decision.

After comprehensive legal and economic analysis of the Agreements on the Right to Use Fibre Optics and Ethernet Bitstream Service that the Company signed with Telekom, the Commission for Protection of Competition ruled to confirm the agreements and exempt them from potential prohibition.

SOFIA (Bulgaria), April 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria s competition regulator said on Tuesday that it granted approval to Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), operating under the Vivacom brand, to become sole owner of local internet providers Net1 and ComNet Sofia, as well as cable operator N3.
The two notified transactions cannot significantly impede effective competition on the local markets of retail fixed Internet, pay-TV, and fixed-line telephone services, nor can they lead to the establishing or strengthening of a dominant position, the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said in a statement.
