EPA Finalizes 2021 Multi-Sector General Permit | Holland & Knight LLP

Highlights The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) 2021 Issuance of the Multi-Sector General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Industrial Activity (MSGP). Several items from the proposed 2020 MSGP were not adopted in the final version, including a coal-tar sealcoat prohibition, expansion beyond the 2015 MSGP provisions for permitted discharges to CERCLA/Superfund sites, automatic delays to new discharger authorization due to enforcement, universal benchmark monitoring for all dischargers (as opposed to sector-specific requirements) and requiring sector-specific control measure fact sheet checklists. The permit s effective date is March 1, 2021. Operators with permit coverage under the 2015 MSGP (which has been administratively continued) have until May 30, 2021, to submit a new Notice of Intent (NOI). Shriram Automall to foray into Rs 50,000 cr forward auction industry

Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL), part of Shriram Group and MXC Solutions, has received the Standardisation Testing & Quality Certification (STQC) E-Procurement System (ePS) certificate from the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. The certificate will enable the company to foray into the Rs 50,000 crore public sector forward auction industry. After going through extensive tests for nearly three years, SAMIL has become the first private company in India to have its auction portal certified by the prestigious STQC directorate for exclusively conducting “forward auctions”, which is among the first of its kind issued by the agency, said Sameer Malhotra, CEO SAMIL. WCA awards woodworking industry s first Gold credential

The trail-blazing employee of Jefferson Millwork & Design recently became the first professional woodworker awarded the Gold credential by the Woodwork Career Alliance of North America (WCA). In fall 2019, Memory was the first woodworking pro to earn the WCA’s Red credential.  Greg Heuer, secretary of the WCA, presented Memory his Gold credential certificate, pin and patch during a ceremony held on Jefferson Millwork’s shop floor attended by company managers and fellow employees. “Until 2007, woodworkers like everyone here had no nationally recognized path to demonstrate their progress and achievements,” Heuer said. “The WCA gives all of you that path. We celebrate this day by presenting the world’s first WCA Industry Gold credential to this gentleman.”
