The Washington County Board of Health met for its final regular business meeting of 2020 Monday to close out the year’s accounts and discuss constraints of funding for coronavirus contact tracing.
The board, minus the absent president, also unanimously voted to discontinue the $20,000-per-year contract for financial software in favor of utilizing a past software in 2021 while searching for a more streamlined option throughout next year.
Board Member Jeff Jones asked for more of an update on the status of coronavirus cases, too, during the meeting noting consistent questions from his circles concerning the virus.
Board Member Dr. Jeff Patey, who also owns Quality Care Associates on Front Street in Marietta, noted that while the announcement of the first administrations of the coronavirus vaccine occurred Monday, the impact on public life is still a ways away.
