Tew, who was an existing director at the Cambridgeshire-based business, assumes the MD role following James Thurlow’s move into a non-executive chairman role with the Thurlow Nunn Group of Companies alongside a new role as managing director of its agricultural division, Thurlow Nunn Standen.
Thurlow said that Tew had demonstrated his passion for the business and for continuous improvement, adding that he had already “gained the respect of his colleagues and made a valuable contribution to the improved performance of Thurlow Nunn”.
Town Down to Ninth

Town dropped one place down to ninth in League One following last night’s fixtures, their lowest position of the season.
Oxford United, who defeated the Blues 1-0 at Portman Road at the weekend, jumped ahead of Town via a 3-0 home victory over Accrington Stanley.
Elsewhere, the top two, Coventry and Rotherham, drew 1-1 at St Andrew’s, Sunderland scored a late equaliser at home to Fleetwood with their game ending in the same scoreline and Portsmouth beat the MK Dons 3-1 at Fratton Park.
As a result of those games, the Blues, who have 11 games to play along with most of the teams above them, are now nine points off the top two and three from the top six.
Former King s Lynn Town chairman mourned

Tributes have been paid to former Kingâs Lynn Football Club chairman and ex-Thurlow Nunn League official Merlin Saddleton, who died at the weekend.
Mr Saddleton, who it is understood had been unwell for some time, died on Saturday, having spent the previous two weeks in hospital following a fall, a statement on the leagueâs website said.
He served as Linnets chairman for several years during the 1980s and held a number of roles during his association with the Thurlow Nunn League.

A post on the Linnetsâ Twitter feed on Sunday said: âThe club are saddened to learn of the death of former chairman Merlin Saddleton.
