THAILAND: The cabinet yesterday (May 11) approved the postponement of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, deputy government spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul said.

The sixth edition of the tournament, originally scheduled to be held in Chon Buri and Bangkok this month, will now be staged from March 10-19, 2022.
The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced earlier this year the postponement of the Games citing the global pandemic, travel restrictions and health protocols around the continent.
Hong Kong holding Teqball Challenge Cup event to decide Asian Beach Games team Friday, 7 May 2021
Hong Kong is holding an inaugural Teqball Challenge Cup event as it seeks to prepare a team for the rescheduled Asian Beach Games in Sanya.
The Hong Kong Teqball Association held preliminary rounds of the competition on May 1 and 2.
The organisation is set to stage the finals at the Mong Kok’s MacPherson Stadium on May 9.

South China Morning Post that the organisation had progressed since founding, with the inaugural tournament helping the national body to select an Asian Beach Games team.

Chappuis hit by COVID-19, warns public
THAILAND: National team footballer Charyl Chappuis says he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Chappuis, who plays for Thai League 1 side Port FC, is the latest Thai athlete who has contracted the coronavirus as the country deals with a third wave of infections.
“I have been tested for COVID-19, and the results are positive. I’m currently under quarantine and will be treated safely, accordingly,” Chappuis wrote in a social media post.
“For any trouble I might have caused, no matter how small, I would like to take this chance to apologise from the bottom of my heart. I hope everyone will stay safe during these troubled times.
