FROM TODAY, ALL PAYE workers can check if they have any outstanding tax liabilities from 2020.
This morning, the Revenue made preliminary statements of tax liability available for all employees through the MyAccount portal on the Revenue.ie website.
Some 46% of us will have no outstanding balance for 2020 but 27% (over 600,000 workers) will have some sort of a hangover from last year.

THOUSANDS of people who have been told by Revenue they owe tax on money they got under the Covid wage subsidy scheme and PUP payments have been advised that they have up to four years to make the payments.

Revenue has appealed to people who are trying to access their preliminary end of year statement to be patient, after some users reported that its online system had slowed to a crawl.
Revenue Assistant Secretary in the Personal Taxes Division, Declan Rigney, said the volume of users attempting to access the Revenue Online System was causing the delays.
He added that this is not an issue that there is a deadline on and people should remember that they can access the information over the weekend or next week it they cannot access it today.
In a post on Twitter, Revenue said it was aware of intermittent issues with its online services.
