Gardaí have dispersed a large group of people from a cemetery as they celebrated a deceased’s birthday, in what offcers described as a “contravention” of Covid-19 public health guidelines.

Footage posted online shows large crowds gathering in the town centre as well in Calvary Cemetery, with little social distancing or mask wearing evident.
It s understood a number of people travelled from England.
In a statement, Gardaí say they are aware of a funeral that took place in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick on 24th February 2020. Gardaí attended the scene and engaged with those present. The Health Act 1947 (Section 31A-Temporary Restrictions) (Covid-19) (No.10) Regulations 2020 are currently in force. Regulation 8(2) provides restrictions on funerals. Regulation 8(2) is not a penal regulation.

Ciara Nolan who are both doctors were reportedly staying at
Elbowroom Escape Lodge in Donard, Co. Wicklow who were offering mental health breaks to frontline staff.
While on a hike up the Wicklow mountains, they found the dog, named Neesha, who had been lost for two weeks before the pair found her.
Neesha was so cold that she was unable to move but the couple wrapped her up in clothes and Jean carried her approximately 10 kilometres, back down the mountain.

A couple of hikers, who rescued a missing dog while out on a walk, have been reported to the police for breaching lockdown rules, with Gardai making enquiries in relation to the lodge where the couple were staying.

Ciara Nolan and Jean Francois Bonnet came across the golden retriever while out in the Wicklow Mountains along Ireland s east coast on 6 February.
They found Neesha close to the summit, with Jean picking her up and carrying her back down to safety.

And after having been reported as missing two weeks earlier, Neesha has now been reunited with her owners.
