One person dies in three-vehicle Caledon collision

BARRIE, ONT. One person has died after a three-vehicle collision on Highway 10 in Caledon. According to OPP, it happened Sunday around 3:20 p.m. on Highway 10 north of Beech Grove Side Road. OPP say a northbound pickup truck entered the southbound lanes, colliding with an SUV head-on. That SUV then struck a minivan that was also travelling southbound on Highway 10, officers say. The 82-year-old male driver of the SUV was killed in the collision. The driver of the pickup truck was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The two people in the minivan did not report any injuries. The highway was closed between Charleston Side Road and Dufferin County Road for several hours while police conducted their initial investigation, which is ongoing.

May 13, 2021   ·   0 Comments On Sunday, May 9, at approximately 9 a.m., officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Caledon Detachment responded to a single vehicle rollover on Forks of the Credit Road west of Highway 10 in the Town of Caledon. “The collision involved a white sedan leaving the roadway and rolling onto its roof,” say Police. “Two individuals were reported to be inside the vehicle at the time of the collision. Both occupants were transported to a hospital and the driver’s injuries were reported to be serious in nature. “Forks of the Credit Road was closed for investigation and vehicle removal; it has since been re-opened.”

May 6, 2021   ·   0 Comments On Saturday, May 1, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers from the Caledon OPP, along with Caledon Fire and Emergency Services, responded to an industrial accident at a truck yard in the area of King Street and Airport Road in the Town of Caledon. “A worker was pronounced deceased at the scene of the industrial accident after becoming trapped underneath a truck,” say Police. The victim has been identified as Jaswant Sandhu, 35, of Toronto. “Caledon OPP with the assistance of the Central Region Forensic Identification Unit and the Ministry of Labour continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.” Any person with information regarding this investigation should immediately contact the Caledon OPP at (905) 584-2241 or toll-free at 1-888-310-1122. 

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC S HELP IDENTIFYING THEFT SUSPECT

April 29, 2021   ·   0 Comments On Friday, April 23, 2021, at approximately 5:50 a.m., officers from the Caledon OPP responded to an attempted theft of vehicle call for service on Frank Johnston Road in Bolton. “The complainant told the officers that he noticed a white Nissan Rogue parked at the end of the driveway,” say Police. “Once outside, the complainant saw a male sitting in the driver’s seat of the complainant’s car. The complainant was able to remove the suspect from the vehicle; the suspect got inside the white Nissan Rogue and fled the area. “On the same day, Caledon OPP responded to a theft from vehicle call for service on Pineridge Drive. The complainant advised that their purse, wallet, cash, identification and banks cards had been stolen from their vehicle overnight. Police investigation revealed that the same suspect and white Nissan Rogue were involved in the theft on Pineridge Drive.”
