Mike Zimmer gave a press conference today in which he provided some details on new players and off-season developments. Here’s a transcript of what he said.
Intro:
Okay, before I forget, I’d just like to congratulate Dick Stockton on retiring after 55 years of broadcasting. He’s always been very professional with us, and does a great job, and I’ve always enjoyed the times that, to be interviewed by him, especially in the pre- pre-game meetings, so it’s been good there.

Thursday Open Thread
Good Morning!
With the Dakota Dozier signing the Vikings have solved the debate here whether they’ll address the interior of the offensive line in free agency, whether that was a wise move remains to be seen. I’m on service until Sunday however I did see a suggestion to do a mock draft and let everyone be the GM of a team; I’ll be throwing that together sometime next week while I’m off, look for an announcement here, but we’ll do the draft in the fanposts.consistent with me there will be rules though. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Thursday, one more day until it’s weekend eve and time to plan the beer and meat menu for the weekend.
Copied!
The Vikings have added University of Alabama cornerbacks coach Karl Scott to their defensive staff as defensive backs coach.
The role was held last year by Daronte Jones, who last month accepted LSU s defensive coordinator position.
Scott spent the past three seasons at Alabama under Head Coach Nick Saban, during which he coached a cornerbacks group that included 2020 second-round pick Trevon Diggs, as well as Patrick Surtain II, projected by many as a high first-round selection in the upcoming draft. Karl has a National Championship-level background and has coached some of the top college players in the country, Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer said. His input in the defensive backfield and working with our developing players there will be important.
