Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that as per law, the officials involved in the incident would be severely punished. “No one will be allowed to misuse their authority”, he said.

10,270 scholarships awarded to students in KP Peshawar January 13, 2021 PESHAWAR: As many as 10,270 scholarships of various categories have been awarded to the students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last five years under the Higher Education Endowment Fund (HEEF) and Chief Minister Education Endowment Fund (CMEEF) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government with a total cost of Rs337.13 million. This was told to a meeting of the Board of Directors with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan in the chair. Besides Special Assistant to CM on Higher Education, Kamran Bangash, Secretary Higher Education, Muhammad Dawood and Secretary Finance, Aatif Rehman, the meeting was attended by other members of the BoD and officials concerned. Briefing the meeting about the details of various scholarships provided to the student, it was informed that under the CMEEF, seven foreign Ph Scholarships have been awarded to eligible students with a total cost of Rs191.00 million.

In the meeting, they discussed the issue regarding the desecration/burning of the Shrine of Hindu Saint Shri Paramhans Ji Maharaj by a mob in the Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan showed grave concern over the tragic incident and informed the Hon’ble Member of Parliament that he has already taken cognizance of the issue and has fixed the matter before the Supreme Court on January 5, 2021 in Islamabad with the directions to One Man Commission on Minorities Rights, the Chief Secretary KPK and IGP KPK to visit the site and submit a report on January 04, 2021.
