Queenslanders are warned to expect an extension to stay-at-home health orders as the state s chief health officer indicated it would take something really special for the state to emerge from lockdown on Sunday afternoon. Please everyone, just think what you could do to just stay at home for the next few days until Sunday because it‘d be really good if we could lift it,” Dr Jeannette Young said on Wednesday.

Queensland Health authorities are concerned over a confirmed Delta case in Cairns that is not linked to the Brisbane cluster.
The infection was detected in a fully vaccinated pilot who works in the tropical city guiding ships through the reef .
Queensland Chief Health Officer Doctor Jeanette Young said genome sequencing revealed his case has not been linked to any of the 16 new locally acquired cases on Wednesday.
QLD records two new cases as Sunshine Coast University Hospital staff isolated
Queensland has recorded two new cases of local transmission. It comes as ten hospital staff from Sunshine Coast University Hospital have been forced into 14-day quarantine after saving the life of a COVID-19 infected patient.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced the state recorded two locally transmitted cases with one in hotel quarantine.
Ms Palaszczuk said there were no concerns as both of the new cases were close contacts of the Carindale daughter mentioned in Wednesday s numbers.
She continued to urge Queensland residents to check-in at all venues they visit, wear masks and come forward for testing.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk had claimed on Twitter the UK Government didn t allow people under 40 to get the AstraZeneca vaccine.
On Wednesday, Ms Palaszczuk Tweeted : The guidelines we re following from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) and the Australian Medical Association are clear. Even the UK Government won t allow their under 40s to get the AstraZeneca vaccine. Please follow the health advice.
