Michigan Nurse Arrested For Stealing Covid Vaccine
I m not really sure what the end game was going to be, but the nurse was pilfering the vaccine from a distribution site in Detroit.
ClickOnDetroit reports that the nurse was working at the mass vaccination site at the TCF Convention Center in downtown Detroit. She was investigated after another nurse working the site saw her pocket two vials. The nurse was employed by an independent contractor.
“Our vaccines are stored in a secured location,” Detroit Chief Operating Officer Hakim Berry told ClickOnDetroit. “Even when we deliver they are with a security guard. We account for every syringe that we give out.”
An employee who is believed to be a nurse practitioner at Detroit s drive-thru mass vaccination clinic tried to steal two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, a city official said Tuesday.
Chief Operating Officer Hakim Berry said a staff member saw another staffer putting syringes in her pocket early Monday afternoon at the TCF Center garage and recorded it. Berry said she was caught and Detroit Police are investigating.
Berry said the woman had two doses of Moderna vaccine. He said she works through one of the staffing agencies and is believed to have been there a few weeks. We re trying to get the entire story of what her intentions were that day, Berry told the Free Press on Tuesday night. Berry said this is the first known incident like this at the vaccination site, which has administered 109,000 shots since mid-January.
