The man was stopped and searched by officers on patrol in Loughton on Saturday, October 31, 2020. During the search, officers found the man had a hunting-style knife and cannabis in his possession. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife blade or pointed article in a public place and possession of a Class B drug, and later charged with the offences. He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Thursday, April 29 and pleaded guilty to both offences, and was sentenced to 21 weeks in a young offenders institution and order to pay £128 in costs.
