The United Way of Central Illinois (UWCIL) is announcing today that their
President and Chief Professional Officer, John Kelker has stated his intention to retire effective April 1, 2022.
John began his career as President of the local United Way in 1996. During his tenure, John grew
the organization’s resource development efforts while embracing a national Community Impact
model. Under John’s leadership the Springfield United Way has been a leader in requiring funded
partner accountability for the funds donated to its annual campaign. He has been active in the
community through numerous civic organizations as well as state and national United Way efforts.
