PUBS, restaurants, cinemas and services such as hairdressers are set to close on Christmas Eve as Ireland will enter a new lockdown to fight back the third wave if Covid-19, the Irish Sun can reveal.
The hard hit hospitality sector will be asked to close at midday on Christmas Eve and will not reopen until next year.

Services such as hairdressers, beautician and make up artists will also close on Christmas Eve as part of the new lockdown.

Search By Live95 News Team via Getty Images Limerick people are being urged to reconsider their Christmas plans if they have been socialising in the past few weeks after 70 more cases of Covid-19 were confirmed for the county last night,
It was the highest figure for any county outside the capital.
The 14-day incidence rate for Limerick has risen to 152.9 per 100,000 population.
There are currenty nine confirmed cases of Covid-19 at University Hospital Limerick and a further ten suspected cases.
The Critical Care Unit is currently treated one confirmed case and one suspected case.
Meanwhile, there were 764 new cases across the country yesterday.
