Johnson County’s Commissioners ratified a Memorandum of Understanding between the county and the Wyoming Department of Revenue concerning support for CAMA, or the Computer Aided Mass Appraisal system.
The MOU was signed by Chairman Bill Novotny due to time constraints and needed to be approved by the commission.

According to sinergese.com, computer-assisted mass appraisal is a term used to describe a software package used by government agencies to help establish real estate appraisals for property tax calculations.

A budget hearing was held by the Johnson County Commission at their recent meeting to transfer funds concerning their 2020-21 budget.
Commission Chairman Bill Novotny explained why the budget hearing was needed.
Fund 25 is the county’s Homeland Security/Emergency Management account that received the $4,988 grant.
Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly explained how the funds are to be used.
No comment was offered during the budget hearing, and the commission voted to approve the transfer of funds.

landfill.
The commission also wanted to remind the public that the County Cleanup Days are different than the Conservation District’s toxic waste collection day which will be put on in June.

The commission, after some discussion, voted to pass Resolution No. 656, allowing the Powder River Fire Chief to participate in the county health plan.

Recipients of the two Buffalo High School Scholarships were Jessica Kinney and Calvin Rule, with Sydney Downare as the alternate.
The Kaycee Scholarship went to Mary Cleveland with Kade Neville as the alternate.
Each county in Wyoming can present three scholarships to graduates attending the University of Wyoming or a Wyoming Community College.
The scholarships are for $500 per semester for one year, and applicants are eligible for a renewal scholarship the following year.
The second year applications are due by 5pm on June 18
th.
