Meeting reviews risk factors along Nullah Leh

Rawalpindi : Following the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, ‘Clean and Green Pakistan,’ the Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Tariq Mehmood Murtaza here on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the risk factors along the Nullah Leh.
The meeting reviewed various issues of the Nullah such as rain water harvesting, trash segregation, safe and secure flow in Leh downstream, installation of sewerage water treatment plants in Rawalpindi-Islamabad around the nullah, plantation of bamboos along the banks for recycling, provision of flood retardation basin in Islamabad in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Federal Flood Commission (FFC) and maintenance and placement of flood forecasting and flood warning systems.
Rainwater harvesting project

Rawalpindi: The Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Tariq Mehmood Murtaza visited Bilal Masjid, Muslim Park, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed and inaugurated rainwater harvesting project to reuse rainwater.
Rawalpindi is the second city in the Punjab, he said, adding that RDA has started recycling of used water in this mosque after Sirajia Masjid, Asghar Mall Scheme with the help of UNDP. He said that mosques need a lot of water to meet everyday requirements. It is being expanded and will be a bigger model after completion.
Rainwater collected will be used for washing and cleaning of the mosque, ablution and wash rooms where ablution water will be used for plants and grass in the park established in front of the mosque. He said that more than 400 worshipers perform ablution in the mosque daily while 1,000 to 1,500 worshipers come here for Friday prayers. One man uses 5 to 7 liters of water during ablution which can now be made usable
RDA assures RCCI of support

Rawalpindi : The Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Tariq Mehmood Murtaza has ensured complete support to RCCI in Special Economic Zones (SEZs). He said Special Economic Zones (SEZs) will be developed along Rawalpindi Ring Road to decongest the city.
A meeting held Wednesday in RDA about SEZs along Rawalpindi Ring Road which was attended by Chairman RDA, Director General RDA Chaudhry Maqbol Ahmed, President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Muhammd Nasir Mirza, Senior Vice President RCCI Osman Ashraf and Dy Director Finance RDA Muhammad Junaid Taj Bhatti.
On the occasion, Chairman RDA said that the business community is the backbone of the national economy. He elaborated that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan the Ring Road Rawalpindi will set a new horizon for Development of the city. Rawalpindi-Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RFA) Tariq Mehmood Murtaza called on Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and requested him to refrain private TV channels from airing advertisements of illegal housing societies, informed civic body spokesman on Monday.
He added the Chairman RDA has also written letters to Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Director General of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) requesting them to block bank accounts/social media accounts of the owners/followers of the illegal housing societies mushroomed across the district.
According to him, the head of civic body following the increasing complaints against owners of illegal private housing societies’ looting spree in shape of advertisements on TV channels and social media has taken concrete steps to save innocent people from fraudsters. The heads of all the three state departments have assured their full cooperation to Chairman RDA in this regard, accordi
