SL opens its doors to World announced at travel trade awareness session in Mumbai – Lanka Business Online

A virtual awareness session for the Travel Trade in Western India was held on 19 January 2021 to announce the re-opening of Sri Lanka for international tourists from 21 st January 2021. This was the first awareness session organized for the Indian Market to inform of Sri Lanka’s re-opening and the “safety protocols” associated with the re-opening of the country for tourists. Chairperson, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) Kimarli Fernando, Consul General Mumbai Chamari Rodrigo, President, Travel Agents Association of India Jyoti Mayal, Acting President, Travel Agents Federation of India Pradip Lulla, travel agents based in Western Region of India and Senior Officials of the SLTPB participated at this meeting.

Mastercard partners with Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau to help revive tourism

Kimarli Fernando, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (left) and Rajesh Mani, Country Manager, Sri Lanka & Maldives, Mastercard (right) Expanding on its longstanding partnership with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), Mastercard today announced that it has entered into an agreement with the SLTPB to offer Mastercard’s Tourism Insights platform, as well as consulting services at no cost to the Government to support the revival of the island nation’s tourism sector. This is part of Mastercard’s ongoing efforts to assist the Government and other stakeholders in accelerating Sri Lanka’s recovery from the global health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
