Ahead of the November 6, 2021, gubernatorial election in Anambra state, some Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC have urged the national leadership of the party to resist the temptation of anointing any candidate.
Specifically, the chieftains said that anyone who emerges as the candidate of the party without the people’s input will occasion the party’s failure at the polls, citing Zamfara, Rivers and Bayelsa States as typical examples.
Coming under APC Patriots, Anambra chapter, the party faithful contended that credible, rancour-free primaries were a condition for an APC victory in the governorship election.
Some members of the group included former House of Representatives members, Honourables Chukwuemeke Nwogbo and Chizor Obidigwe, APC Southeast zonal youth leader, Olisa Onyeka, communications specialist, Ike Chidolue, business tycoon, Chidi Ogbaji and Mike Mbanefo, a lawyer, amongst others.

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha North Council stormed head office of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) demanding what they described as ‘stolen mandate’ of its candidate for Issele-Azagba ward 06, Samson Uwandulu.
This followed as the DSIEC declared all PDP chairmanship candidates winners of Saturday’s election in the state, as Uwandulu alleged that DSIEC favoured the PDP in spite of scored 408 votes to defeat the PDP candidate who polled 317 votes.
He insisted that after counting and collating the votes, he won, adding that before the final results were announced, PDP officials hijacked the ward returning officer and appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to prevail on DSIEC to restore his mandate.
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the South-South has tasked the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, to deflate the ego of Governor Nyesom Wike by ensuring victory for the party in Rivers State come 2023.
The leaders also said the Supreme Court judgement that sacked Igo Aguma as the party’s Chairman in Rivers was in order.
They urged the authentic Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Isaac Ogbobula and the Transport Minister to begin operation sweep Rivers 2023
They also accused Igo Aguma and his sponsors of wanting to pull down the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi at all cost
The Leader of INRI Evangelical spiritual church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has spoken about the Anambra governorship election coming up later in 2021.
The prophet has warned some strong contenders in the election not to bother wasting money on campaigns because God has not backed their aspiration to become governor in the state.
The man of God prophesied that Paul Orajiaka, Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Uche Ekwunife, Godwin Ezeemo from All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, cannot be governor come 2021.
In a statement to DAILY POST, Ayodele said God has not anointed any of them to be governor in the state.
