Minister pledges to improve investment climate
MINISTER for Investment Geoffrey Mwambe has said the government will continue to improve the investment climate in the country and remove the nuisances that have been hampering growth of the investment sector.
He was speaking recently at an interactive round-table event attended by key stakeholders in Dar es Salaam to discuss a report released by an advisory firm, EY on the Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) economic and social impact in the country.
The event was a forum for dynamic engagement amongst key decision makers to discuss the role of the agricultural and manufacturing industries in Tanzania’s socio-economic development, and the route to Tanzanian prosperity through partnership and collaboration.

FARMERS in central zone regions have been capacitated on modern technologies and uses of the improved seed varieties for the cultivation of strategic crops that are flourishing well in the semi-arid regions.
The drought-resistant food and crop- based raw materials in question include sorghum, millet and finger –millet.
Speaking over the weekend at Ipala ward in Dodoma Region during a special training to impart the farmers with agronomic practices needed for the professional cultivation of the crops, Senior Plant Breeder at the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), Hombolo Centre, Dr. Lameck Nyaligwa, said the crops have started to attract number of farmers in many regions.

Govt,stakeholders agree to improve production and marketing wheat crop
WHEAT farmers in the country may soon have a reason to smile as the government and other stakeholders have reached agreement on how to improve production and marketing of wheat locally.
The consensus is that millers in the country reduce importation of wheat and focus on purchasing locally produced one at a minimum price of 800/- per kilogramme. Other measure is for all investors holding state wheat farms to resume large scale production or forfeit the plantations as the government is determined revolutionise wheat production.
