GWINNETT COUNTY, GA A Gwinnett County high school has been rated among the top 10 in the nation, according to a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report.
In addition to being ranked first in Georgia, Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology in Lawrenceville is ranked ninth nationwide.
Statewide, one other Gwinnett school made the top 20: North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee at 17.

WALNUT CREEK, CA Northgate High School and Las Lomas high schools along with Contra Costa School of the Performing Arts has been named one of the best high schools in the United States, according to a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report.
This year s list ranks more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country.
Among those schools, Northgate ranked 144th among California schools named on the list while Las Lomas High School ranked 175th. Contra Costa School of the Performing Arts was ranked 1241st among public schools, according to the report.
Before college or a lucrative career comes another milestone for students: graduating from high school. Earning a high school diploma opens up college and career options and can also lead to hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional lifetime earnings.
High school graduates age 25 and over who didn’t have a college degree received median weekly earnings of $792 in the first quarter of 2021 compared with $613 for those without a high school diploma, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Additionally, a greater percentage of workers age 25 and over without a high school diploma have been unemployed throughout the coronavirus pandemic compared with those with higher levels of education.

There’s no shortage of high-caliber high schools in Massachusetts, and as part of its 2021 “Best High Schools Rankings,” U.S. News & Report broke down the best of the best in the Bay State.
The academic-ranking website releases its nationwide and state-by-state ratings annually, looking at the best high schools in both the country and all 50 states as well as the top charter, magnet and STEM schools in the United States.
