Image Credit: SUBMITTED/The Shuswap Trail Alliance July 29, 2021 - 7:00 PM The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail is getting $459,061 to put towards a new pilot section of rail trail connecting Enderby and Splatsin. Splatsin, the Regional District of North Okanagan, and Columbia Shuswap Regional District ownership partners were awarded the money as part of the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream funds provided by the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia, according to a press release issued by the trail association. Once completed, the trail will run from Sicamous to Enderby. The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail previously announced $250,000 had been secured from the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association in partnership with the Provincial Ministry of Tourism, bringing the total funding for the construction of the pilot section to $709,061.
