(WALB) - After a few week’s pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, South Health District has started back giving them again. Health officials say the demand for that specific vaccine is still there. “Each health department has a schedule where one day during the week they will offer Janssen vaccine and the other days they’ll offer Moderna,” said Courtney Sheeley with South Health District. Serving 10 counties including Lowndes, Brooks, and Cook, Sheeley tells us they had a list of people waiting for its return.

The clinics will be in Macon County, Lee County, Bullock County, Elmore County, Autuga County, Lowdnes County, Tallapoosa County and Montgomery County. Healthcare workers, nursing home residents, people 75-years-old and older, and first responders are those eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. ADPH asks the public to remember the COVID-19 safety measures to help prevent the spread of the virus. Here’s the schedule for the vaccine clinics:

(WTXL) — The Lowndes County Health Department began contacting people Thursday to cancel first dose COVID-19 vaccination appointments due to a shortage in vaccines. The health department said that people that have appointments for their second dose will not be affected. Right now, the department says second dose appointments are their current priority. “Individuals that have scheduled second dose appointments at Lowndes County Health Department or in our drive-thru will not be affected,” says Grow. “While we sincerely regret this has happened within our district and throughout Georgia, we are thankful for other enrolled providers that will be able to continue vaccinating persons within our community that are at high risk.”
