Wholesale trade turnover (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased in nominal terms in the first two months of this year compared to the same period in 2020, both as gross series and as a series adjusted to the number of working days and seasonality by 4.8%, respectively by 3.7%, announces the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) gross series in February 2021, compared to the previous month, in nominal terms, increased overall by 12.2%.
The turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) series adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality in February 2021, compared to the previous month, in nominal terms, increased overall by 0.8%.

Wholesale trade (except for trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased by 5.4pct, as gross series, in January this year, compared to the same period in 2020, according to data provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Wednesday, as reported by AGERPRES.
In this margin, there were increases recorded in turnover in: wholesale of computer and telecommunications equipment (+ 12.4pct), wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco (+ 11.1pct), wholesale of other machinery, equipment and supplies (+ 9.5pct), wholesale of consumer goods, other than food (+ 9.3pct) and non-specialized wholesale trade (+ 9.2pct).
On the other hand, decreases were recorded the intermediation activities in the wholesale trade (-10.8pct), the wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and livestock (-5.6pct) and the specialized wholesale trade of other products (-0.1pct).

The number of non-resident tourists arriving in collective accommodation structures in Romania in 2020 was 452,000, and they spent a total of almost 1.18 billion lei, 2,609.7 lei per person, as an average, according to data provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Wednesday, as reported by AGERPRES.
The official data reveal that, in Q4 of the previous year, the total number of non-residents accommodated in the tourist accommodation structures was 59,800, with total expenses of 139.2 million lei.
According to the same source, businesses (including participation in congresses, conferences, courses, fairs and exhibitions) were the main reason for the stay of 60pct of non-resident tourists who arrived in Romania in the fourth quarter of 2020, and they spent 54.7pct of the total money spent by foreign non-residents in that period.

The natural increase in Romania s population remained negative in January of this year and increased almost twice compared to that reported in the same month of 2020, to minus 14,538 people, from minus 7,381 persons, shows the data published on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), as reported by AGERPRES.
According to the quoted source, during the reference period, the number of live births was lower by 2,119, while the number of people who died was by 5,038 higher.
Also, the number of children under one year of age who died was five times lower in the same analysis interval.
