Matt Lambert: Good! My husband just dropped a box of blueberries on the kitchen floor, so we’ve just been cleaning up.

Matt Lambert: Yeah, it’s as much action as goes on here now.
How’ve you been finding lockdown?
Matt Lambert: We’re still going along. They opened up shops yesterday, so we’ll see how that plays out. I’m skeptical, it seems there’s going to be another one (lockdown). I mean, realistically, it’s cold and there’s nothing to do anyway. Although I have been shooting a lot recently; a lot of commercial stuff.
“She didn’t think about us as real people or about sex work as a real job,” OnlyFans user Erika Heidewald said at the time. She also accused Thorne of scamming people, as the actor’s ‘nude’ photo turned out to be a lingerie shot, similar to images shared on her Instagram. Heidewald stated that this can lead to “the spread of a dangerous and unfair stereotype that sex workers are scammers”.
Although Thorne apologised, asserting that she “wanted to bring attention to the site… to normalise the stigmas”, she later caused more controversy by claiming that she was the “first” to join OnlyFans.

Could you share with us how this project came to be? And how you first became interested in documenting adolescence?
Deanna Templeton: Well, this book came about firstly because I ve always been very fond of text with art and wanted a way to incorporate it into my work. So before this became a book I came across some boxes that I have had in my closet for years and decided to take a look at what I have been holding onto. I came across my diaries and journals from when I was 14 to 18 years old. Around the same time, looking through my photo archive, I started to notice that a lot of the women I was shooting had a very similar look. Then it just clicked, these images could help illustrate my youth at the time of the writings. So the book is composed of modern portraits, my teenage diary/journal entries, and selected flyers from concerts that I went to.
