The Pella City Council is holding two public hearings for two key infrastructure projects on the construction season calendar at their meeting this evening.
Two resolutions are on the agenda to approve contracts for Oost Poort Alley infrastructure upgrades and the 218th Avenue and Neil Drive Reconstruction project.
Council will consider bids for full sanctuary sewer, storm sewer, underground stormwater, and paving improvements as well as downtown parking updates, for an estimated $900,000, as well as those for the complete conversion of gravel to hard surface for the road near the Shady Brook development, projected to cost $1.52 million.
Council will also consider the first reading of an ordinance changing 503 Main Street to a Planned Unit Development, with base zoning for Commercial Mixed Use, to allow construction of the “Pella Market,” a business similar to Gateway Market in Des Moines. 22 new townhouses receive initial OK for development on Ann Arbor’s Main Street

ANN ARBOR, MI A new townhouse-style condo development on Main Street could be cleared to move forward soon.
The Ann Arbor City Council voted unanimously Monday night, March 15, to give its initial OK to rezone the property at 700 N. Main St. to allow Auburn Hills-based Trowbridge Companies to build 22 market-rate condos.
The project, called Near North, is now due for final council approval April 19.
The site is across from the Ann Arbor Community Center, where an affordable housing project stalled several years ago and a row of eight houses was demolished.
