ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday paid a surprise visit to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Covid-19 ward and interacted with the staff and patients.
Following the standard operating procedures (SOPs), the prime minister visited the hospital and was briefed by doctors about the virus, number of patients and their condition and availability of related facilities for them.
Imran reemphasized strict adherence to the corona SOPs for complete prevention. Imran Khan will speak again directly to the people over the phone Tuesday (today) at 1:30PM and answer questions. PTI Senator Faisal Javed said, âPrime Minister Imran Khan will once again speak to you directly on the phone.â

PM Imran stresses public-private partnership for country’s progress

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said that government is fully determined to involve private sector in the development process as it is very crucial keeping in view of the public need.
He was addressing a briefing in Islamabad the other day regarding various development projects under Public Sector Development Programme and projects completed with the participation of private sector.
Imran Khan said Board of Investment is being activated to facilitate local and foreign investors. He directed the governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to present progress report on the implementation of federal and provincial development projects; besides submitting detail of the future plans, their distribution at the local level and the progress made so far.

Pakistan’s planning minister warns that mortality rates among younger demographics is on the rise
Endeavoring to explain Pakistan’s coronavirus vaccination strategy on Tuesday, Planning Minister Asad Umar stressed that it was designed to ensure the maximum number of the most vulnerable groups were given priority for the inoculations.
“Reason why we are opening vaccination based on age in descending order is due to finite availability of vaccines globally, as well as vaccination capacity in the country,” he said in a posting on Twitter. “Both supply of vaccines and vaccination capacity are continuously increasing with concerted efforts,” he said, but noted that until capacity and supply were on track to cater to the entire population the inoculations must focus on society’s most vulnerable groups.
Vaccination centres to remain closed on two Eid days

Vaccination centers will open from 8 am to 8 pm after Ramadan
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The vaccination centers across Pakistan will remain closed for first two days of Eidul Fitr, National Command Operation Center (NCOC) issues a circular on Monday.
According to the notification, all vaccination centers across the country will have two holidays on Eid, while vaccination centers will open from 8 am to 8 pm after Ramadan.
On the other hand, according to the latest figures issued by the NCOC on Monday, Pakistan reported 78 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 861,473. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 18,993.
