Black pro-life leaders condemned Planned Parenthood’s “hollow” denunciation of Margaret Sanger after Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson distanced the organization from Sanger’s “association with white supremacist groups and eugenics.”
Human Coalition vice president Benjamin Watson, a former NFL athlete, said Sunday that Planned Parenthood’s denunciation of its founder rang “hollow” in light of the organization’s current work.
“Whether they personally identify with Sanger’s ideology or not, they continue to carry out her mission, by serving as the leading executioner of our children,” Watson said. “The same Sanger they claim to disavow would applaud their efforts and results, as a disproportionate percentage of black children have been killed in Planned Parenthood’s abortion clinics.”
Hollywood Child Protection Act Is Largely Ignored During Julie Su’s Tenure
An April 2018 Deadline report found that the state, while the LCO was under Su’s command, hadn’t adequately enforced the legislation. Su served as the labor commissioner between 2011 and the end of 2018, meaning she was in charge of overseeing the enforcement of the labor code from when the Hollywood Child Protection Act was enacted to when Deadline published its investigation.
Deadline examined the public Child Performer Services Permit database maintained by the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and cross-checked the individuals who had received a permit with names of people working with children in Hollywood. Dozens of known managers, acting coaches and photographers who worked with children had received a permit, according to Deadline.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Tuesday that racial injustice and the violation of indigenous rights cause climate change.
“We must recognize in legislation that the trampling of indigenous rights is a cause of climate change, that the trampling of racial justice is a cause of climate change,” the New York Democrat said during a speech that reintroduced the Green New Deal. Ocasio-Cortez and several of her Democratic colleagues reintroduced the legislation after announcing it in 2019.

The legislation seeks to mitigate carbon emissions, which would reduce climate change, the American Action Forum (AAF) reported in 2019. The legislation includes several proposals, such as universal healthcare, “guaranteed green housing,” ensuring all Americans can access food and a “net-zero emissions transportation system.”
