Since January, 261 California prison inmates have requested transfers to prisons aligning with their gender identity, 255 of them biological males who say they identify as women, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
In January, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, signed into law a bill requiring the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to ask every individual entering its custody to specify personal pronouns and gender identity, including transgender, nonbinary, or intersex.

Infectious disease experts say the National Institutes of Allergies and Infectious Diseases’ (NIAID) grant with the nonprofit group EcoHealth Alliance, which involved the transfer of $600,000 to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), described scientists conducting gain-of-function research on SARS-like viruses to make them even more contagious. But a federal oversight board created in 2017 to scrutinize such research was not notified of the grant because the NIAID opted against forwarding it for review, the Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Wednesday in a Coronavirus Task Force briefing that he doesn’t know how to determine when the pandemic will end.
“I don’t think it’s gonna be a precise number, I don’t know what that number is. I can’t say ‘it’s gonna be this percent,’ but we’ll know it when we see it,” Fauci said.
Fauci said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that he’s unsure of the reason why virus cases and hospitalizations have kept decreasing in Texas after the state removed mask and social distancing restrictions almost a month ago.

President Joe Biden backed off a campaign promise ensuring all companies that earn more than $100 million and avoid most tax obligations would pay at least 15% in taxes.
President Joe Biden’s Made In America Tax Plan would introduce a minimum tax rate of 15% on corporations with $2 billion in book income, but report little or no taxable income. The plan, released Wednesday by the Treasury Department, differs from Biden’s campaign proposal, which proposed the same minimum tax rate, but on tax-avoiding companies that report more than $100 million in book income.
“Large corporations that report sky-high profits to shareholders would be required to pay at least a minimum amount of tax on such out-sized returns,” the president’s plan said. “Under this proposal, there would be a minimum tax of 15 percent on book income, the profit such firms generally report to the investors.”
